Kanellos Tountas, Visiting Professor of the Department of Economics at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens
He is a graduate of the Department of Business Organization and Management of the University of Piraeus and holds a Master's degree in Business Administration from the same University. He obtained a PhD in Financial Management from the Athens University of Economics and Business. He speaks English and a little Italian. He holds an organic position as a Special Scientific Personnel in the Studies Directorate of the Capital Market Commission of Legal Entity under Public Law ,while he gives lectures for Economics at the Department of Economics of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and at the Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Hellenic Accountant. He has more than thirty years of work experience, during which he worked in the Financial Services of the Lesvos Shipping Company listed on the Athens Stock Exchange, while from 2001 until 2010 he was Head of Financial Services of the Hellenic Capital Market Commission of Legal Entity under Public Law. He served as Deputy Mayor of Finance in the Municipality of Nikaia - Ag. I. Renti from January 2011 until August 2014. From September 2014 until June 2015 he served as Deputy Governor in the Agricultural Insurance Organization . In the last local elections in May 2014, he was re-elected and remains a Municipal Councilor in the Municipality of Nikaia-Ag. I. Renti. He has taught for a number of years at the Department of Health and Welfare Units of the TEI of Athens, at the Athens University of Economics and Business, at the University of Patras, at the National School of Public Administration and at the Technological Educational Institute of Piraeus. He has also been a member of the Board of the General State Hospital of Nikaia "Ag. Panteleimon" with responsibility for the finances of the Hospital. His scientific articles have been published in prestigious International Journals while others have been presented at International Economic Conferences and Forums. He has presented a large number of lectures on Finance and Public Accounting. He holds a degree in Accounting A, is a full member of the Economic Chamber of Greece and has attended a large number of seminars at the European School of Public Administration.
