Dimitris Kallioras is an Associate Professor of Economic and Regional Development at the Department of Planning and Regional Development, University of Thessaly. His main research interests include economic development, regional development, economic geography, economic integration, regional inequalities, and regional policy. He serves as the Chief Editor of Aeichoros and as a member of the Editorial Board of Eastern European Business and Economics Journal. He has participated in a large number of European (FP5, FP6, FP7, HORIZON, ESPON, and INTERREG) and national (Greek) research projects, and he has published several papers in top-quality scientific journals (e.g. Territories, Region et Developpement, European Planning Studies, Annals of Regional Science, Regional Studies, Papers in Regional Science, European Urban and Regional Studies, Environment and Planning C: Government and Policy, Regional Science Policy and Practice, Tijdschrift voor Economische en Sociale Geografie, Social Indicators Research, Journal of Developing Areas, Euro-Mediterranean Journal for Environmental Integration, European Journal of Tourism Research, Regional and Federal Studies) and collective volumes.
